Happy (late) Birthday to Me!

Blazer: Target
Tank: J. Crew
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Delia*s Warehouse sale
Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer
Glasses: Prada
So this is what I wore on my annual birthday shopping trip to Tyson's Corner with my mom on Wednesday. We had so much fun, and I can't wait to show off some of my new pieces!

Please excuse just about my longest absence ever. I promise I really am going to be back soon! I finally just about better in time for the new year!

Still sick...

Despite being miserably sick, I have managed to be slightly productive. I cleaned my room! I love it when my room is clean...it's such a reflection of me. The rest of my time has been spent on finishing writing for my internship, and staying in my new Victoria's Secret pajamas all day. Hopefully, I'll be better in time for birthday shopping at Tyson's! Scratch that. Need to be better so I can go to work on Tuesday...lovely.
Oh, and this is the Hawaiian tree! Like I mentioned awhile ago, my family is big on Christmas and decorating. This year, I got my first mini tree in my room, with a Hawaiian theme. Actually, one of the Christmas gifts I got was a beautiful glass Lily Pulitzer ornament...can't wait to add it! Pin It

*cough, cough* I'm sick.

Karen: *cough, cough* I'm sick.

So, that's basically me. Except not really. In Mean Girls, Karen is so clearly faking it, it's not even funny. On the other hand, I really am sick. My chest hurts so bad, I had to leave work today after only being there for a half an hour. That's how miserable I was. I felt really guilty, but there was not way I was going to be able to cashier for eight hours today. No way.

That's how most of this week has been though, spent working my life away. I go to Target for about eight hours every day, then I come home and work until bed on stuff for my internship. I'm getting close to the finish now, but it still feels far away. Thankfully, my deadline is quickly approaching, and collegeprowler.com will be off my mind yet again.

So, that's what my absentee self has been doing, if you cared. I'm a sick and working individual. Is it time to go back to school yet? Pin It

Homeward bound!

Sweater: Old Navy
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Coach
Necklace: Vintage
Today is my last day of school for a little more than a month; Christmas break is finally here! I am beyond ready to go home, hang out with my mom, eat homecooked meals every night of the week, and harass my brothers. Oh, and celebrate my birthday of course! How I love the holidays.

Paris, Je t'aime

Shirt (gift): Delia*s
Camisole: Ralph Lauren
Pants: Delia*s
Boots: Juicy Couture
Belt: Gap
Oh the weather outside is frightful; but the fire is so delightful; with simply no place to go; let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Well, since it is snowing and I don't have anywhere to go...I'm thrilled! I bundled up in these boots that I stole from my mom so I could battle the snow in the couple of feet I had to walk outside. Otherwise, I plan on staying inside today, finishing some Christmas presents, and hanging out with some of my favorite hoodlums. Hooray!

Don't stop me now

Shirt: J. Crew
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Juicy Couture
Now that I have finals out of the way (perk of being a communications major!) I'm going to try and cram as much time as I can in with my friends before we have to part ways for about a month. Today, my roommate and I are going out to lunch at a undetermined destination after she is done her abstract final, and then we are going to Plato's Closet-woohoo! Then, date night with the boyfriend to go out to Panera, and see Love and other Drugs. I'm so excited for today!!

Oh, finals week.

It's that time during the semester folks: finals week. The official uniform on campus? Sweats, jeans, hoodies, and parkas. Currently, it's 17 degrees outside, and the wind is blowing us all around. Anyways, I cannot deny that I have succumbed to this uniform as well-but in a cuter way, I hope. Hopefully if I'm not so busy tomorrow, I'll have time for an outfit post.

Good luck on finals to all college students! Pin It

Ugly Sweater Party/ Secret Santa

These are my friends, and I love them. These are some of the normalest pictures from the night (so, that should really tell you something.) Although I am entirely ready for the semester to be over, I am going to miss them all so much! It was nice to end the semester on such a good note.

P.S- You are not allowed to judge me on my fashion choices in this blog post. At an ugly sweater party, it's practically illegal to be pretty!

Glitterazzi

Comments I have gotten in regards to my nails:
-"I think your nails need to be redone."
-"Your nails aren't even painted, they are just glittered!"

Inspired by the section in 17 Magazine about new ways to do you nails for the holidays, I decided to redo my nails. Honestly, I love how they turned out! I would definitely do it again. Unfortunately, I only have two different colors of glitter. However, I am reluctant to buying more because I have never finished an entire bottle of polish, and I have made it my goal that I will. They used gold glitter in the magazine, and I think that would be my next choice if I bought some more.Anyways, I think part of the reason I really like my nails is because they were so quick and easy to do! Glitter polish dries so much faster than regular pigments, plus it rarely gets messed up because it dries so quickly. In addition, this style makes nails look so long, although I don't really know why.

So to do this style, it's super simple. Staring at about the middle of your nails, paint on one layer of glitter. Every time you go to do the next coat, start a little higher up, so you can build up intensity and create a ombre like effect. I think I did about 4 coats all together. I finished by painting one last french manicure style strip across the top of my nails, and adding a clear layer of nails polish. But that's it! Super simple, right? Pin It

Cardigan: WDNY
Tank: J. Crew

Headband: BCBG Max Azria

So you are probably reading this post and thinking-something can't be right! It's Friday, and Katrina is dressed up like it's a regular weekday! (Actually, I doubt that anyone one thinks this because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who reads my blog.) REGARDLESS. I am dressed nicely on a Friday. Today is going to be a good day.

So, why am I dressed nicely on a Friday, you may ask? (Or not..for same reason I mentioned before.) Well, I'm going home for the night to Cinderella with my mom at a local dinner theater, and I really didn't feel like bringing a nicer change of clothes with me. Actually, had worse came to worse, I could have just borrowed something from my mom once I got home, which would have been fun too. But yea, so that's why I am dressed nicely.

Okay, I am going back to work now. I "intern" all Friday at my desk in Meyran 319 all by my lonesome. Maybe I'll pop in some old Gossip Girl or American Dreams to have this work go by a little faster?

P.S- I just noticed it was snowing!!

Back to before

Shirt: Anne Klein
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Delia*s Warehouse Sale
Belt: J. Crew
Tights: Hue
Bracelet: Sergio Lub
Earrings: stolen from mom
So I got this super cute mini skirt on my excursion to Tysons last weekend: and I am so glad I did! I can't wait to wear it with some bare legs, a white tank, and my essential denim jacket. Actually, I really like this outfit overall today. Although, now that I think about it, I should have borrowed my roommates purple scarf to go with it!

I'm Lazy.

Shirt (borrowed from the roomie): American Eagle
Pants: Joe's Jeans
Shoes: Target
Scarf: gift
Belt: Gap
I'm being unbelievably lazy. But it's finals week, and things are crazy busy. That art project on the floor? Due tomorrow, naturally. Finished? Absolutely not. Also on the itinerary? My French oral presentation. Hence, my laziness. Back with cute stuff in about a week?

It's the end of the world as we know it...

Well, it's official. The world is going to end.

Well, at the least the one at Hood College that I and my fellow classmates know so well.

This morning, there was a water main break, resulting in no water and no heat on campus. It was supposed to be fixed shortly afterwards...but they have yet to find the break as of right now. So, classes were cancelled for the day. Which, was awesome, because Tuesday is always my busiest day- and this is the last one of the semester! So that's good. But- gross bathrooms, no hot food, cold rooms...things are starting to get bad. So, tonight, all residents are being kicked off campus. We all have three choices: staying with a friend who lives nearby, going home, OR-and this is the excitement for some-staying at hotel. For free. Paid for by the college. Casey and I feel WAY too guilty about that option, seeing as we know plenty of people in the area who have apartments and we know that there are actually people who don't, and aren't close enough to go home. Big guilty conscious. Anyways, so we're both staying at my boyfriends apartment tonight, which is fine. But this school...it's hard to describe the scene at the moment. Okay, being without water- doesn't sound like such a big deal right? Wrong. No one has showered, which is gross. There's food, and we still have electricity, but it's just madness at the school. Getting the apartments is going to be a large cost for the college, as well as to fix this break. We keep hearing that we are still going to have school tomorrow, but I find that doubtful. This kind of feels like a snow day, but different. I did get some errands and homework done today, which is pretty good, but this day has been going slow.

So, there's no outfit post today. It's freezing, I'm gross, and unshowered. I've been wearing sweats all day.

Okay, I'll stop all my rambling now. In conclusion, My Life is Hood College. And I love every single minute of it. Pin It

Oversized Sweater, FTW.

Sweater: Lacoste
Shirt: Macy*s
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Coach
Earrings: H&M
It's another one of those kind of Mondays. Thankfully, after my one exam (don't shoot me) next week, I won't have to say that for at least another month. FTW.

Anyways, it's freezing. Currently, my Weatherbug says it is 31 degrees outside. In addition, it's super windy. Plus, there is a crack right next to my air conditioner unit that is keeping my room even colder than usual. It's most unfortunate. So, I've snuggled into one of my favorite sweaters that keeps me super warm! Love it.

Hmm what else. Oh, so I'm supposed to be working on the art project that you can see on the floor of the photos...notice what I am doing instead. Also, the girl who lives next to me? Her alarm (which just goes beep beep beep beep...) has been going off for the last two and a half hours. What makes this worse? This happens every. single. morning. So, I'm playing music to blare over top, but it's not loud enough. Seriously, if you aren't going to be here on the weekends or the weekdays or you just are unable to get up...you need to respect other people. I have been dealing with this for four months now, and I can't take it any more! So, girl in 321 Meyran. If you happen to be reading this for some odd reason....PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR ALARM. Thanks, the rest of the third floor.

Enough rambling. Back to the art project...?

Messiah Ball!

Last night was Messiah, which of all of Hood's dances, is THE dance to go to. So, I went naturally, wearing my senior prom dress for the second time (props to myself!) Anyways, here are some select photos from the night. Back to my art project now!

Mall and Messiah

Shirt: J. Crew
Scarf: Victoria's Secret
Jeans: Delia*s
Shoes: Conserve
Bag: Coach
Belt: Gap
Today, my friend and I hit up Tyson's Corner to do some major shopping. Although I didn't get much, I got some gifts for Christmas, so I am feeling very productive. Anyways, I wanted a casual and simple outfit just so I could be productive.

Currently, I am preparing for one of Hoods longest standing traditions: Messiah. First, there is a choir performance in the chapel with one of the other local schools, and then there is a dance where almost everyone is entirely wasted. I'll put pictures up from the dance sometime tomorrow. Time to get ready!

Street Style

Shirt: Juicy Couture
Camisole: Calvin Klein
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Coach
I'm not wearing a dress. I'm not wearing a skirt. No make-up, and my hair isn't done. YET. I feel sexier then ever, and I cannot explain why. Actually, I think that's the power of a good pair of pumps, some dark skinny jeans, and a black v-neck tee. I feel like this is very much street style that a model might wear. Like they just got out of a photo shoot and then went straight to the street with no make-up. I feel so good! With my hair pulled off my face for once, I just feel so good! I'm done talking about myself now. Back to my homework. On a Friday night, I know.

Complete 180

Dress (worn as top): BCBG Max Azria
Skirt: BCBG Max Azria
Camisole: Ralph Lauren
Bracelet: Sergio Lub
Shoes: Coach
Belt: Target
Tights: Hue
Earrings: gift
So sometimes, I have days like yesterday. And then there are better days...like today for instance. While this outfit may looked very calculated and planned to some (well which it is, making it a not very cute outfit..) but that's just the way I am. It is so my personality.

Anyways, I love this belt. It makes me so skinny! Not that I think that I am fat, but I just feel really slim in this belt and skirt. Even if it is hard to breathe sometime. Beauty is pain, right?

National No Make-Up Day

Shirt (borrowed from the roomie): Abercrombie and Fitch
Tank: Ralph Lauren
Jeans: Banana Republic
Shoes: Converse
Belt: Gap
Necklace: Vintage
Well, I bet you have never seen me this under dressed before. But let me tell you, this happens. Besides being stuck in a huge style rut, it's raining cats and dogs (and sideways, according to a text from the roomie) so I'm not going all out today. This outfit is all about being comfy and casual.

In additional, today is national no make-up day! For some people like the roomie (who can't you tell: I'm obsessed with) this is no big deal, seeing as she doesn't ever wear make-up. I on the other hand, hate leaving the house without eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. So today, I thought I would take the challenge to show my real beauty. I hope everyone else does as well!

Two a days

Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer
Tank: J. Crew
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Delia*s Warehouse sale
Earrings: H&M
Belt: Gap
Scarf: Gift
So, because I was hanging out in the common room of my dorm until 12:30 am last night, and because I have classes that keep me busy and sans computer all day, I totally forgot to post my outfit yesterday! Therefore, today is a two a day, and you will see today's outfit sometime later today.

Anyways, I was going through all my outfits of November (Happy December!) and I noticed I fell down a slippery slope. While the first couple of outfits were okay, in the middle I hit my peak and wore some of my favorite outfits in a while. However, by the end (aka yesterday) I was lacking inspiration, getting lazy, and bored. I have got to get out of this slump! Unfortunately, I think what I really need to get out of my slump is a shopping trip...which I don't exactly have the time or the money for right now. I haven't gone shopping shopping (aka hitting up Tysons for an all day excursion with my mom) since probably sometime this summer. As a result, I am really lacking some fresh fall clothing. And since I don't do well with only getting around one piece of clothing every time I go shopping, I think I have found why I am struggling. Thankfully, with my 20th birthday just 28 days away, I will be going shopping very soon! (Every year, instead of getting birthday presents, my mom takes me out shopping at Tysons and we have a nice lunch and dinner as well.) I am so excited! Bring it on finals. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm ready to go home. AGAIN.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR!

Cardigan: Nordstrom
Tank Top: J. Crew
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Delia*s Warehouse
Necklace: Claire*s
Belt: Gap
So, Thanksgiving break has come and gone. I swear I am done with what the Christmas trees look like in my house for awhile and am back to posting outfits for about two weeks. I have another case of the Mondays, and I still have no idea what to wear. Or, what to say in my blog posts for the matter. I quit for the time being.

Deck the halls

You honestly have not seen the holidays until you have been to my house during the holidays. On average, there are usually five trees set up. Obviously, putting up these trees takes a lot of time. And when there are only two women in the house of five, it's pretty easy to take a stab at who's doing all the work. Not that I mind, really. It gets me in the holiday mood, and I love the holidays. So, today's chore was for me to set up the American tree. Because we have five trees, we obviously could not just throw up ornaments wherever we wanted. No, no, no. Like the White House, we have theme trees. Other than one traditional tree with a smorgasbord of ornaments on it (seen two posts ago,) all the other trees have themes. Among these themes are the Wizard of Oz tree, Steelers tree, Hawaii tree, and the American tree (seen here.) After September 11, this was the first new tree we bought into the home. The first year it was pretty barren, but now we have accumulated quite the collection of red white and blue patriotic ornaments. Shown above, are a couple of my favorites.

Oh, and this is what I had for lunch today. Wheat bread with homemade cranberry relish, stuffing, and turkey. This is why I love thanksgiving leftovers. YUM!
