Purple and blue make me feel brand new

Tee Shirt: Gap
Pants: Ralph Lauren
Shoes: Coach
Earrings: Stolen from Mom
Necklace:Erica Beamson for Target
Belt: Off some dress in a thrift-store
I love the look of purple and blue paired together. Especially with bright electric blue, and deep royal purple. Actually, I love the look of almost all analogous colors paired together (two colors that are next to each other on the color wheel) However, my favorite part of the oufit is this necklace - it adds such a nice layer of texture to this otherwise simple outfit. Anyways, today was a pretty casual day, so I wanted to wear something that reflects that, and I think I achieved that.

Back in Black

Cardigan: Old Navy
Tank Top: J.Crew
Belt: Target
Skirt: American Eagle
Tights: Betsey Johnson
Shoes: Coach
Earrings: Gift
Headband: Juicy Couture
This outfit is the perfect representation of me- classic staples (black cardigan, sequin flats, white tank) with a fun twist. (sparkly earrings and leopard tights) Overall, I really like how it came out, I was really comfortable all day, and I still felt really presentable. However, I am not quite sure what is with me in this black's not me at all. I am so into bright colors, but recently I have just kept wearing black. (see the last couple of posts)

Spring has Sprung?

Shirt: Old Navy
Camisole: Calvin Klein
Pants: Guess Jeans
Shoes: Coach
Belt: The Limited
Necklace: Claires

Has spring sprung? Well no, not quite. There is still quite a few inches of snow on the ground, although a grand majority has melted this week. (It has been in the 40's almost every day!)

Anyways, the sun was out and shining today, so I want to wear something that would be cute and comfortable, in addition to spring like. Today's look worked perfectly for my busy day- class from 830-750, a tour, and a visit to the career center. Anyways, I think the pale pink and mint green are a perfect compliment, and they are colors that are very spring like. Also, my traditional pearls and sequin shoes give it my signature touch.

Welcome to Bayside High!

Cardigan: Old Navy
T-Shirt: Here.
Shoes: Coach
Necklace: Claire's
Just another full day of classes and errands, so I try to put together outfits that will be comfortable and cute looking for the entire day. Usually to accomplish that, I stick to cardigans with camisoles or cute tee's with flats and jeans. This outfit perfectly does that. In addition, I love the super preppy flair with the cuffed jeans (which may be out of style, but what do I care...) and pearls. Finally, who doesn't love Saved by the Bell? Didn't we all at one point wish we were as cool and pretty as Kelly? Well okay, maybe not all of us, but I know I did.

If I were a French Maid...

Cardigan: Context from Lord and Taylor
Tank Top: J.Crew
Camisole:Gold Hawk
Pants: Wet Seal
If I were a French maid...da da da da da da di di di di dum.

Okay, so I am in a super good mood today, meaning that right now I am living as if my life was a musical. And as if I was a French maid. Which I am not. But this is what I would wear if I was.

Anyways, I love this look. I know gauchos might be a relative faux-pas currently, but I could care less. I love the little pinstripes and small details one can only see upon closer inspection. This camisole is one of my favorites, even though it is a little tight. (it was a 15th birthday gift...) I can't even imagine getting rid of it though. In my opinion, it has just the perfect sexy vibe that is still wearable during the day. Plus, I think this camisole is right on point with the current lingerie trend. And it's black. Okay I have got to stop raving about this outfit.

On another note, I'm done with classes for the week! Let the weekend commence- and maybe with out snow this time?

Whiny Wednesday

Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer
Camisole: Polo Ralph Lauren
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Coach
Headband: BCBG Max Azria
Earrings: Charter Club
Here is yet another take on what I like to wear to class on a day-to-day basis. Although I haven't really been satisified with this look at all today, I only have so much time after aerobics at 8:30 to pick something to wear. And while I usually love the mod look of brown and blue, it did not come out like I planned for it to. I really have got to go back to laying clothes out the night before.

Black, White, and Red all over

T-Shirt: Juicy Couture
Camisole: Calvin Klein
Jeans: Juicy Couture
Shoes: Juicy Couture
Earrings: Dollar Store
Ribbon: free from Christmas wrapping
I had quite the busy day: class from 8:30-7:50, a tour at 3:30, plus a floor meeting. So, I just wanted to be comfortable and casual for running around all day today. Overall, I am pretty happy with this look. Although it is a little casual for me, its still cute for running errands and going to class.

Bows and Sequins

Cardigan: BCBG MaxAzria
Tank-Top: J.Crew
Belt: Via Spiga
Pants: Naf Naf
Shoes: Coach
Earrings: Betsey Johnson
Bracelet:Sergio Lub
Today was the first day back to class after a 10 day weekend, woo-hoo! I was actually quite happy to go to class today, even if it was to just give me something to do. However, it has started to snow AGAIN, so we will see about school tomorrow.

Anyways, I really like this outfit. This cashmere cardigan kept me nice and cozy all day long, while still looking really polished. In addition, I am in LOVE with this belt. I got it as a birthday present from my mom, and this is the first time I have worn it. It just adds the perfect girly touch.

Just Dance

Dress: Target
Necklace: Erickson Beamon for Target
Shoes: Coach
Wristlet: Coach
Don't I have the cutest roommate ever? Yes, yes I do. Anyways, tonight my school hosted a casual dance to replace the winter semi-formal we usually have around Valentine's Day. Because of the snow, the dance was rescheduled, and my little red BCBG Max Azria dress that I had been so excited to wear is just going to have to wait in the closet a little longer. Oh well.

Blizzard 2010, Day 7

Sweater: Lacoste

Camisole: Gift from mom
Pants: Delia*s
Boots: Minnetonka
Necklace: Charter Club
Earrings: Betsey Johnson
For the first time in over a week today, I finally got off campus! Albeit, it was only for a few hours, but it was a good change of scenery. Anyways, a bunch of my girl friends and I went to see Valentine's Day (which was amazing, by the way), so I wanted to wear something a little nicer than what I have been wearing for most of this week. My outfits are unfortunately still limited by my shoes though, it's too slippery to wear anything other than my boots for the remainder of this week. Nonetheless, I am satisfied with my outfit.

Currently, I am back in my dorm in my favorite pair of Victoria's Secret pyjamas watching the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Overall, it has been quite the spectacle. I can't wait until the games begin.

Blizzard 2010, Day 6

So yesterday my school gave us the news that we would not have class until Monday, which in reality should be every college kids dream. I mean, I haven't been to class since last Thursday, but now I am just starting to get a bad case of cabin fever.

However, tonight at least I have Project Runway to watch. As always, I am very excited to see what challenges are in store for the contestants this week. A bunch of my girl friends are going to come over too, and we will act as style council and eat lots of junk food. It should be lots of fun.

In other fashion related news, beloved designer Alexander McQueen died today. Unfortunately, I have never been able to afford any of his exquisite pieces, but hopefully one of these days I will be able to. Anyways, he had a unique and outrageous style that is hard to compare with any other designer of today. He shall be missed by all. If you want more information, you can read the full story from the New York Times here.

Finally, on a much lighter note, today is the start of New York Fashion Week! How I wish that I could be there to soak in all the fabulous couture designs under those white tents in Bryant Park for the last time. Oh well.

Blizzard 2010, Day 5

Today is third day I have been off school in a row. Technically, I haven't been to class since the 4th, because I do not have classes on Fridays. Either way, I am starting to go stir crazy and am not quite sure what to do with myself. So, this morning I decided updating my blog would take up a decent chunk of time.

First, I decided to show my Coach boots that I was raving about in the last post.

I got these as a birthday gift from my mom last year, and at first I wasn't sure when I would really wear them. However, they have been an absolute blessing throughout this crazy blizzard. I have seen so many girls on campus walking through campus in old tennis shoes or clogs that just have no traction whatsoever. On the other hand, my boots actually have traction (I haven't slipped yet!), and in addition, they are super cute. I am still super surprised by how white they are considering what they have been through.

If you are looking for some sturdy winter boots, I would strongly recommend a pair of Hunter Rain Boots. These boots are the absolute best in weather like this, or for rainy days in the spring. Plus, they come in a wide variety of colors so that everyone can find a pair they like.

On a completely other note, I have been listening to Motion City Soundtracks newest CD, My Dinosaur Life, on constant repeat for the last couple of days. If you are interested in alternative punk music at all, I would highly recommend it.

Well, that's all for today. To all my friends on the east coast- stay warm and dry!

The Blizzard of 2010

Hello again everyone! My apologies for not posting recently, the Internet has been down on campus the last couple of days, making it impossible to do any postings. Not that I have been wearing cute clothes anyways, but that is besides the point.

On another note, the Blizzard of 2010 has hit Maryland! In Frederick, where I am at school, it is appears that we got approximately 25 to 27 inches. Either way, the snow is up to my upper thighs, and I don't think I have ever seen so much snow in my entire life!

As for my style choices during this weather, I have been wearing my Coach snow boots all through the long weekend. Surprisingly, they have kept me nice and dry, and despite being white, they haven't got a trace of dirt on them! The fabric they are made up wicks away anything and everything that gets onto them. In addition, my cashmere white gloves and blue Northface have been the perfect compliment to them. Under all of those layers, I have been sticking to Juicy Couture sweats and old jeans and t-shirts. I just can't bear to get any of my nice clothes dirty.

So, to make up for not outfit posting recently, I am going to put up some pictures from around campus during the snow storm- hope you guys enjoy!

Love, you're all I ever could need

T-Shirt: American Eagle

Camisole: Calvin Klein

Earrings: Stolen from mom, and piercing pagoda
Necklace: Erikson Beamon for Target
Belt: Off some dress from a thrift-store
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Coach
This is my take on the traditional jeans and t-shirt look. Who said that it had to be boring? By keeping the t-shirt a solid color, it was easy to incorporate pops of another contrasting color to really make this outfit different. As I have mentioned before, I love the look of pink and blue, and this is just another way to try it. The ribbon belt is actually one of my staples, I pair it with just about any of my shirts to create a defined waist.

On another note, I have made it through the second week of the semester! Hopefully, I will make it through the snow storm that is supposed to hit Maryland on Friday afternoon and last through the weekend. In following through with my mother like duties- everyone better bundle up!

60's Mod

Headband: Juicy Coututre
Earrings: Stolen from mom
T-Shirt: Old Navy
Dress: Laundry by Shelli Segal
Necklace: Erikson Beamon for Target
Shoes: Minnetonka
I feel very 60's mod today- and I love it. In fact, I love every aspect of this outfit. My favorite part is the multi-strand necklace that I have been trying to incorporate into more of my looks. However, theses boots have a particular soft spot in my heart as well, even though all of my friends call them my Sacajawea boots. Finally, the unsuspecting buttons on the back of the jumper add just the perfect touch of whimsy.

On another note, I am not quite sure why I have been wearing dresses everyday this week. Especially considering that it has been under 40 degrees everyday this week. Oh well, I haven't gotten frostbite yet.

Mrs. Blue Purple Sky

Dress: BCBG MaxAzria
Earrings: Stolen from my mom
Necklace: Claire's
Shoes: BCBGirls
I love this dress to death, and when I woke up this morning, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to wear. Never minding the fact that it was a brisk 24 degrees outside, or that there is a possibility of snow later tonight. I love how the grape purple color of the dress really brings out the red in my auburn colored hair. (which for the record, is not my natural color) Plus, this dress has such great texture and movement to it- it does not constrain me at all. Finally, in regards to the boots and the necklace, I knew that whatever I accessories I paired with this dress needed to be relatively bulky, to offset the delicate flow of the dress. This multi-colored strand of beads and chunky boots perfectly fit the bill.

Sequins and Pearls, to boot.

Headband: BCBG MaxAzria (Queenstown Outlets for $4.00-woohoo!)
Earrings: Juicy Couture, and Piercing Pagoda
Necklace: Claire's
T-Shirt: J. Crew
Dress: Bailey 44
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Coach
Today is the first day of the second week of classes- woohoo! Yes, I am one of those dorky kids who actually genuinely likes school. Anyways, this isn't one of my favorite outfits ever, but I was rushing while getting ready this morning, and this was the best I could come up with. Originally, I was going to wear my Delia's chocolate brown corduroys, but I ran into my friend in the bathroom this morning and she was wearing them! So, there went that idea. Oh well, I will probably just wear them sometime later this week.
