Free Fall-ing

Dress: Muse
Shoes: Minnetonka
Jacket (borrowed from the roomie): Eddie Bauer
Scarf: borrowed from the roomie
Earrings: gift
I'm feeling really good today- yet again! I just wish I would have found this scarf earlier today. Right now, I'm headed out to my roommates soccer game, and in grabbing her jean jacket for the game, I found this scarf, which I am pretty sure she has never worn before and was a birthday gift. I don't think she'll mind, but I feel kind of bad. However, I'm just way to in love with how it makes this outfit pops to even think for a second about putting it back. It really takes this dress to a different level, and makes it look so fall! I cannot wait to incorporate this new piece in with other things! Pin It

The best of fall

Jacket (borrowed from the roomie): Eddie Bauer
Shirt: Victoria's Secret
Camisole: Calvin Klein
Skirt: Marc Jacobs
Shoes: Steve Madden
Necklace: BCBG Max Azria
Earrings: stolen from mom
For me, this outfit represents the epitome, and the best of fall. I have lots of layering, darker and more muted colors tones-but without an ounce of black! I love this look. I'm only missing my favorite slouchy vintage Coach, which is unfortunately just too unpractical for all day classes. However, I love that I can take off the jacket if it gets to hot, and snuggle in it when I sit through the torture that is my once a week two and half hour night class. I wish I looked like this during the fall more often. Knowing me though, I know I'm going to be stuck in jeans with cardigans and lots of black approximately a month from now. Sigh.

Well, maybe this fall will be different. It's always been hard. I'm such a summer girl (fashion wise) at heart. I love bejeweled sandals, the tropical array of colors available, and the light airy fabrics. However, there are three other seasons that I have to make my wardrobe work for, so I'm going to do my best this season to really make the most of what I have- instead of going back to what's easy. Because in life, nothing is ever easy- you have to learn to make the best of what you have, and take advantage of the challenges we are presented with. C'est la vie!

Enough of my rant! I'm finally going to hit the sheets after a 17-hour day-whew!

Official Summer Round-Up

So, now that I feel that the summer is officially over (I woke up to gray rainy skies this morning...) I've decided to do a round-up of my favorite outfits from the season. Oddly enouzgh, I found that most of them are from June. Enjoy!

I swear this is the last time I'll wear white until next summer...

Dress (borrowed from my neighbor): Dress Barn
Cardigan: Calvin Klein
Shoes (borrowed from the roommate): American Eagle
Bag: Kate Spade
Bracelet: county fair!
Although fall is now well upon us, you would never know with Maryland weather. Yesterday, it was a scorching 95 degrees! So, I kept up with the weather instead of the seasons, and borrowed this light and breezy dress from my favorite neighbor, Nathalie! I paired it with more light colors such a lemony yellow and flamingo pink to really let the white pop. I also added this candy necklace as a bracelet just for fun. Lucky for you guys, you got to see my outfit with it (I nibbled it all throughout French class yesterday..whoops!)

The Frederick Fair

There is nothing like going to a fair. All the bright glittering lights, free entertainment, and fried, delicious food around me reminds me of being a kid all over again.

As a Hood College student, you can't not go to the Frederick Fair. It's the largest event that occurs in the county all year, and such a fun experience! Last night, my roommate from freshman year and one of my friends finally had an opportunity to go. Since my first roomate is actually a Frederick County resident, she was able to give us a full tour around. Although there was no time for rides, we had lots of fun. I enjoyed a delicious shaved iced rootbeer float, lounged on tractors, petted smelly (but still cute!) farm animals, and checked out a multitude of art work. All in all, it was a super fun night.

It's fall...and 90 degrees.

Dress: Laundry by Shelli Segal
Belt: thrift store dress
Shoes: Steve Madden Luxe
Earrings: Lauren by Ralph Lauren
Although it's the first day of fall, Maryland has no idea how to make up it's mind when it comes to the weather. So, today I decided to wear one of the only dresses I haven't really worn this school year. Hope you enjoy

Shirt (stolen from mom): Nine West
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Steve Madden Luxe
Headband: Juicy Couture
Earrings: gift
I have worn this top numerous times since I stole it from my mom this summer, but this is the first appearance on the blog! Much to popular misconception, it's only one piece. However, I almost wish I did just have a lacy thing like that; it would be very fun to layer with summer dresses and other colored tops.

Anyways, I'm kinda bummed to be wearing jeans, but it's just too cold in the morning any more to not cover up. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be 90 though, so I'm gonna try and wear a dress or a skirt without tights for one of the last times!

Island in the Sun

Top: I.N.C
Pants: DKNY
Shoes: BCBG
I'm taking in the last couple days of summer in style- sporting lots of bright vibrant colors and whites of course! I know I'll be over jewel tones and black before I know it, so I've stretched summer out as far as I possibly can. Now I'm off outside to enjoy this beautiful day- hope yours goes well!

Casual Chic

Shirt: Ralph Lauren Sport
Pants: Ralph Lauren
Shoes (borrowed from the roomie): American Eagle
Necklace: Erin Beamson for Target
Wristlet: Coach
Belt: off some dress at a thrift store
I woke up after sleeping in way too late today to dull gray skies. I wore this to brighten up my mood, and partially because I had no idea what the weather was going to be like. Other than not sunny, but still.

Also, roomie, I love you. Without you, my shoulders and feet would have been cold over the last week. Thanks for being alive.

Summer is not over yet...

Shirt: BCBG Max Azria
Skirt: BCBG Max Azria
Shoes (borrowed from the roomie): American Eagle
Bag: Kate Spade
Necklace: Claire*s
As much I am entirely ready for it to be fall (I think...) summer is no over yet! I think they said there was still a week left on the Today Show this morning. Regardless, here I am sporting some of my newest clothes. By new, I mean I got them over a month ago, I think. Anyways, this outfit feels very light and cool, perfect for this B-E-A-Utiful day. Plus, I love how the ruffles contrast with the rigidity of the skirt. Well, I'm off to lunch and class. Hope everyone has a good day!

In the Streets

Every year, downtown Frederick has an event called "In the Streets," an all day long free festival on Market Street, with lots of yummy food, crafts, and merriment for all. (Cheesy, I know.) Anyways, heres a shot of me with one of my favorite people. :) Sorry I have been short of posting recently-especially outfit shots- I forgot how busy school keeps me! I just have to get back in the swing of things again.

My life in technicolor

Dress: Calvin Klein
Shoes (borrowed from the roomie): American Eagle
Necklace: France
Earrings: stolen from mom
God, I had forgotten how much I loved to be complimented.

Seriously. I know this sounds really bizarre, but I wore all my cute dresses this summer, and no one really complimented me. Because I never saw anyone outside of my office, including my friends. Back at school however, there are many fashionable girls such as myself who appreciate a cute dress! Seriously, I wish I could sound a little less egoistical, but I feel so pretty! Some girl went as far as texting my roommate to tell me how much she loved my dress because she doesn't know me! Wow. So yea, I'm kinda on cloud nine right now.

Other than that, I've had a long day. I had a French exam that I'm not sure I studied enough for, and I turned in some stuff for drawing that I know it's not my best. I did some photography for the school paper today, and I still have one more meeting to go! Whew, am I ready to lie down for a bit. Thankfully, I'll be watching Project Runway in about an hour an a half-WOOHOO!

Hope you guys all had a good day!

Ready for Fall...

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer
Necklace: Betsey Johnson
Shoes (borrowed from the roomie): American Eagle
Earrings: stolen from mom
I can't believe I am saything this-BUT-I am ready for fall. I have always been a lover of the summer- the sunshine, hanging out by the pool, reading all the time, seeing all my friends from home, and shopping with my mom. As of right now, I have exhausted my vast supply of swingy summer dresses, and I am ready to break out knit sweaters, opaque tights, and flats. The dress that I'm wearing now, is on it's third rotation. I know for most of you this may not sound like too much, but usually I only wear my dresses once or twice in a summer, because I have so many. However, with my internship this summer, I wore my dresses all summer, instead of my usual Target uniform of red and khacki.

Bring on fall!

Carnival Cruise Kid's Director?

Shirt: Polo Ralph Lauren
Shorts: BCBG Max Azria
Shoes: Sperry
Belt: Liz Claiborne
Necklace: Charter Club
Yes, I went for the super preppy look yet again yesterday. I even tucked in the shirt, I was that into it. Plus-even my little hair tie matches! This may be a little overboard (HAHA-punny!) seeing as I now feel like I should be the kids program director on some cruise line in the Caribbean or something. However, I think it can be fun to 'dress-up' in this way sometimes. When I pretend to be a character on a day like today, it makes it that much easier to get dressed in the morning, and that much more fun.
