Sally Hansen Set the Stage

It's been awhile since I have done my nails in a different style or color. School has been so busy recently that I've just been doing my nails in solid colors with some of my favorites. However, last week I got a new polish that I was really excited about, and could not wait to use! The result, is above.

I actually don't know what the base color is called, since I borrowed it from a friend, but I do know that it's a very dark purple from Avon - almost a red wine color. Anyway,  the color that I was excited about what the gold glitter (okay, not really a color I guess). But isn't it awesome? It's by Sally Hansen and it is called Set the Stage. The polish is really consistent, and it adds the perfect amount of little and big glitter pieces to every nail. Plus, I know it's going to look awesome with just everything. I can't wait to see how it looks with lighter colors! Pin It

The sun is up!

Shirt: Forever 21
Cami: Calvin Klein
Skirt: BCBG Max Azria
Shoes: Kate Spade
Necklace: Betsey Johnson
Belt: Gap
Do you see that?! That glaring light coming out the dirty window behind me? Now, I know what you're thinking - "this can't be possible, a sunny day in Maryland in September!" Well let me set the record straight, today the sun came out. After spending the entire month in hiding, it finally decided to make a much welcomed appearance. Well for most of the day. Thankfully - THANKFULLY - when it did rain today, it did the two hours that I was in class. #winning

In fact, that light was so so bright this morning, it actually woke me up! However, when I saw that it was so sunny outside, I was put in a great mood, despite having just woken up. It put me in the mood to straighten my hair (something not worth bothering with when it rains), wear a cute short skirt (with sparkly sandals), and go for a two and half mile run without complaining about it! See what great things the weather can do to a persons attitude? Wonders, I tell you. On a side note, I could never live in Seattle.

Anyway, for this absolutely joyous occasion, I wanted to look super cute (even though it is technically fall right now, but it doesn't feel like it). So I decided to wear this short white mini skirt, because I know I can't away with that much longer! Then, I paired it with this casual faded blue and white button down and gold complementing accessories. I actually felt really cute for once today, and this was a great to perk up my mood! Now, where's the weekend?!

Lemon and Gray

Cardigan (borrowed from the roomie): Old Navy
Top: BCBG Max Azria
Pants: Paige Premium Denim
Shoes: BCBGirls
Necklace: Nordstrom Rack
Belt (not seen): Gap

I am so sick of the rain here. So so so sick of it! Every day there is a forecast for rain, but you never know if it is actually going to rain, and if it is- when it will happen.

As a result, every morning I am left staring into my closet trying to think of something cute that won't be totally ruined if it starts to pour without a moments notice. Today, this is what I came up with. I had been originally been hoping to wear this lemon colored blouse with my cream colored wrap sweater, but it appears I have left it at home! That's alright though, I thought the gray still looked nice when paired with super dark flare jeans and some simple jewelry.

What are your go to rainy day outfits? Somebody has got to help a girl out!

Hippie Chic

Dress: Muse
Jacket: DKNY
Shoes: Minnetonka
Earrings: gift
Scarf: borrowed from roomie
Sometimes I really like to have themes for my outfits. Like "Catholic School Girl," "Martha's Vineyard Summer Prep," and "Badass Bitch," to name a few. I mean, nothing ever looks exactly how you may picture this kind of person, but it's still kind of fun to play pretend.

Today was one of those kind of days, if you couldn't tell. And today's theme? Hippie Chic. It all started with the boots. Whenever I wear these (also know as my Sacajawea boots), the outfit is kind of based around them. And it goes from there.

So when I saw the forecast for light rain (just like every other day this September), I decided to go with my water-resistant fringe boots. They are not exactly meant for heavy rain (hello, no tread), but they are fine for light misty rain. Anyway, so I knew the perfect complement would be this 70s inspired bright dress. I love the flared sleeves, and the way it slims over everything. Paired with my trusty jean jacket and my roommates purple scarf, it was the perfect rainy day pick me up!

Just call me school girl.

Dress (as as skirt): Miss Sixty
Cardigan: Calvin Klein
Polo: Ralph Lauren
Tank (not seen): J. Crew
Shoes: Target
Earrings: Charter Club
Headband: BCBG Max Azria
Bracelet: Forever 21

This is one of these outfits that I got a lot of reactions to from my friends...mostly that I looked like a school girl. "And not the sexy one, like Britney Spears," one of my friends told me.

Whatever, it's not like I care. I think this outfit is really cute, despite the fact that I nearly feel suffocated by the four layers or so I am wearing on top. Really, I should just be happy that it's still warm enough to wear dresses and not be freezing!

Smells like school spirit

Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer
Shirt: free from Hood
Pants: Delia*s
Shoes: Coach
Bracelet: Forever 21

I love having school spirit, but I hate dressing tacky. So when it's time for a big game at my school, I stick to wearing our school colors  (blue and grey) in a classy way instead of decking out in face paint.

For today's big soccer match, I wore my super soft American Apparel tee, dark skinny jeans, and sparkly flats. In my opinion, a good representation of school spirit, but in a classy way.

Fair Day!

Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer
Tank: Calvin Klein
Shorts: Hollister
Shoes: Sperry
Earrings: American Eagle

I'm going to the fair today! Woohoo! I'm such a dork. In my county, our fair was really pretty lame, but I love the one in Frederick. They have lots of yummy food stands, games, rides, and an art exhibit! It's all really cool..

But I'm actually just going with my photo class, so unfortunately I won't have time to frolic around at the fair - I'll save that for tomorrow. Today I will focus on taking lots of cool pictures, and trying to restrain myself from not eating everything.

Anyway, so I wanted to wear something pretty simple, and of course some shoes that I wouldn't mind getting too dirty. Sperrys are great for that. For the rest of the outfit, I picked some bright summery colors  to brighten my mood. There are only a couple of days of summer left, so I have to wear the brights while I can!

BAMF

Jacket: Romeo and Juliet Couture
Tank: J. Crew
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Coach
Headband: Juicy Couture
Earrings: stolen from mom
I always love the reactions I get from my friends about what I wear. LOVE IT. Although for the most part they like the outfits that I wear, sometimes they make some really interesting comments. Like today for instance, two of my friends described my outfit as "bad ass."

Now, I've never really been describe as a bad ass before, but apparently putting on a black leather jacket and an animal printed skirt makes you bad to the bond. Ba-ba-ba-ba-baddddddddddddddddd. That was necessary, I know.

Anyway, no matter what they say, I really like today's outfit. I've been waiting forever to wear this jacket I got this summer, and today was the perfect early fall day for it. Unfortunately, by the time I got out of my 8:50 p.m. class it was pouring down rain and I was without an umbrella, but I didn't melt - thank goodness.

I thought this skirt was the perfect complement - much more feminine, but still not too over-the-top girly. I finished this off with my favorite sequined flats (now back in full swing since sandal weather is apparently over), and a black leather headband.

What do you guys think?

Cherry Tomato

Jacket: DKNY
Shirt: Hanes
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Sperry
Necklace: Neiman Marcus Last Call
As with the last couple of days, there was a dreary and miserable looking forecast for today. However, while this morning there was abundant fog and gray skies, by dinner time, the sun was out, the sky was blue, and I was able to go to my roommates soccer game without getting drenched.

Anyway, in case it rained, I was prepared with my shiny boat shoes. Also - let's talk about my new skirt. I. LOVE. IT. I found it for eight bucks at Charlotte Russe, and thought it was such a great deal! I already know of so many ways I want to wear this, but here was the first idea I had came up with.

I wanted something that was playful and cute, but without being too fussy. So, I paired my colorful skirt with this boys Hanes shirt, my trusty denim jacket, and some simple blue and gold jewelry.

Honestly, today's outfit is the first I have been really happy with in a long while. What do you guys think?

I wanna see your peacock!

Sweater: Tory Burch
Tank: gift
Pants: Lilly Pulitzer
Shoes: Target
Belt: Gap
Scarf: gift
Earrings: Eiffel Tower gift shop
I have been waiting to wear this cardigan since the day I bought it, so I was SO happy to wear it today. While from the front it looks like a traditional over-sized navy blue sweater, from the back it's reminiscent of beautiful peacock feathers.

Since today was my first time wearing it, I decided to wear it traditionally, with a plain top, a scarf, plain loafers, and some skinny jeans to let the cardigan be the star of the show. I look forward to wearing this cardigan in the future with dresses, and bright purple and green clothing especially! Pin It

I'm a prep.

I am happy to say that I am writing this post from my new bubblegum pink Sony Vaio! After being without a personal computer for the last two weeks, I am quite happy to be working out of my room (or the library, quad, or dining hall) whenever I want! I no longer will have to wait for a computer in the basement of my dorm late at night, or ask if I can borrow one of my friends. AWESOME. Also equally awesome, because I backed up my computer, I didn't lose any information. Thank goodness.

Meaning- my daily scheduled posts should be right back on track! Now I know this one is being published late, but at least it's getting up!

Anyway, I had a lot to do today: classes, meetings, several trips to Bestbuy, and a trip down to northern Virginia so I can be with the boy for some of the weekend. So, I wanted to be pretty preppy (as usual anymore), but I also wanted to be super comfortable. To do that, I picked these awesome cropped pants I got at J.Crew on a super sale sometime last year (for like $13 dollars, if I remember correctly), and I paired them with a simple button down shirt, and bright flats. Polished and pulled together, but not a lot of effort required. Love it.

Pretty in Pink

Jacket: DKNY
Dress: Ralph Lauren
Shoes: Target
Bracelet: vintage from mom

If you're ever wondering of what you should wear to school when you feel super lazy but so lazy as just pulling on sweatpants: this is it. Now, while this is nowhere near as comfortable as my super soft velour Juicy sweats, it's a lot more presentable for going to meetings, running around campus, and cheering on the roommate at soccer matches.

My life in technicolor

Dress: Calvin Klein
Jacket: DKNY
Shoes: Kate Spade
Earrings: American Eagle
Belt: Juicy Couture

Another pretty sunny day means one thing in my mind - dresses! We're about halfway through September and I have worn almost all my dresses that I brought with me to school. That means I'm a pretty happy girl. :)

Anyway, not much is new. My computer has STILL not arrived, so my presence on the interwebz has been abysmal, at best. However, it's supposed to be here by today or tomorrow, so hopefully I will be writing to you from my new computer soon!

Sailor Girl

Shirt: American Eagle
Shorts: Hollister
Shoes: Sperry
Bracelet: Forever 21
Belt: Gap
Earrings: Charter Club
Scarf: gift

Alright so here's my situation - I am still computer-less. It's been just about a week and a half now, and let me tell you, it's been one of the most painful week and halves in my life! You never realize just how much you are going to miss something until it's gone, right?
Anyway, I'm trying to stay optimistic. My new computer is supposed to be here any day this week, but until then, all of my friends have been very generous about letting me borrow their computers for the time being.

Now unlike last week, when it did not stop raining at all, it appears the weather gods have shined down on Maryland this week! So, I'm going to try and take full advantage of this and wear as many cute outfits as I can!

Today, I decided on this 3/4 sleeve navy blue and white striped American Eagle knit top. It is super comfortable, and the perfect transition piece for between fall and summer, which is why I decided to wear it today. In addition, I paired it with a green scarf for a pop of color, and white shorts to let the shirt and the scarf shine on their own. Super preppy as usual, n'est pas?

Hopefully you will be seeing me in dresses the rest of the week! I WILL wear all my summer dresses before it is too cold!

Gonna chase the clouds away

Jacket: DKNY
Dress: Target
Belt: Cole Haan
Shoes: BCBGeneration
Necklace: Lilly Pulitzer
Earrings: Eiffel Tower Gift Shop

This morning as the rain pelted down on my window, I decided I would try and branch out and wear something different. And by that I mean try and wear some of my dresses that I have been neglecting all of this week, and stepping out of my rain boots for a change. Let me tell you, not one of my best ideas. I won't be doing it again.

Although overall I like how the outfit came together (other than the dress that is now looking a little small...), there is just no point in trying to look nice in this weather. By the end of the day, my hair was matted and frizzy, my boots were a completely different shade of brown, and the humidity had clung all of my clothes to me.

Now, I see what other fashion bloggers wear in the rain. But let me be clear -- this is not the kind of cute rain that sprinkles throughout spring so we have nice flowers to look at. The kind that I can dance around and take pictures in. No. This is heavy rain, all day long. Whenever you think it has stopped (for about five minutes), it starts back up again. It's been like this since Monday, and shows no sign of letting up any time soon.

Alright, I'll stop whining. Until next time, I'll keep waiting for a sunny day!

Rain rain, go away.

Shirt: I.N.C
Skirt: Theory
Boots: Juicy Couture
Scarf: Urban Outfitters
Bracelets: Coach and Sergio Lub
Belt: Gap

Just another cloudy and dreary day on the east coast! I'm making the most out of it by keeping my feet dry in my tall rain boots, and hovering under my zebra umbrella all over campus.

I really would like to branch out on these next couple of rainy days with my Sperrys, but I am afraid of ruining my new ones already! However, if it is not going to rain too hard, perhaps I will try. Wish me luck!

Black, White, and Red all over.

Shirt: Anne Klein
Skirt: BCBG Max Azria
Necklace: Nordstrom
Shoes: Juicy Couture
Headband: BCBG Max Azria
Umbrella: Target

I'm back!! I'm sure you have missed me TONS.

Well, in case you were dying of curiosity (which I am sure you were), I was in Atlantic City all weekend with my boyfriend and his family. I spent time soaking up the last warm bits of summer sun, playing in the water, going shopping, and eating lots of good food. While it was a much needed and appreciated vacation, I am back to the real world now, so I will hopefully not be too absent on my blog.

Which brings me to my next point. I had been experiencing some major computer difficulties in the weeks right before returning to school (of course), and on Friday finally had the chance to get my computer over to Bestbuy to be looked at. They finally got back to me today, informing me that my hard drive was corrupted. So, I am without a computer until further notice. I'm in the process of getting a new computer now, but I don't know how long it will until I am purchasing it. In the meantime, I will be trying to continue to update my blog daily from the dorm computers in the basement. Wish me luck!

Anyway, so if you live on the east coast, I am sure you have already seen this weeks forecast - rain all day, everyday. So I'll be sporting my Juicy rainboots and a combination of red, white, gray, and black just about every day this week. I know it's pretty boring, but with all the school work I have to catch up on, I don't have much time to be thinking about outfits.

Alright, enough of the melodramatics. What do you think of today's look?

P.S- You may have noticed that these images haven't been cropped like I usually prefer to do. Well, I actually can't find a program to crop with on this computer, so you'll just have to deal with looking at my messy room :-)

Good girls go bad

Shirt: borrowed from Nat!
Skirt: BCBG Max Azria
Shoes (not seen): Coach
Earrings: stolen from mom

I'm really not big on going out. Now don't get me wrong, I love doing the dress up part, and putting on different make-up, and trying on clothes from most of my floor. However, I don't drink, and I'm not real big on hanging out in a smoky, hot room attempting to dance. But sometimes, it's kind of fun. So I do go out :-)

This is what I wore out last night to a local Baltimore club that was having its last college night forever. Because I don't go out a lot, I don't have a lot of going out clothes. So, I borrowed this super cute top from my favorite neighbor, and paired it with a white skirt I actually owned and super high black patent heels.

Unfortunately, we got to the club really late seeing as some of us had night classes or meetings, and consequently had to wait in line for over an hour. But whatever, we got in around 12:15, and spent the rest of the time just dancing and enjoying ourselves. Overall, I'm so glad I got to go!

New day, different dress.

Dress: Nanette Lepore
Jacket: DKNY
Shoes: Kate Spade
Headband: BCBG Max Azria
Earrings: gift

What started out as a beautiful, sunny morning in Frederick,Md.,  has turned into a drizzly rainy one. So my outfit isn't exactly appropriate for today, but that's alright. With a couple of changes (some flat shoes and an umbrella), I'm set!

I got this dress at the outlets by King of Prussia this summer, and I have been waiting SO long to wear it. It's so bright and colorful, and it makes me so happy! Plus, even though the structure of the dress is a kind of weird shape, I think it is still super flattering. In addition, I just have to say how much I love Nanette Lepore. She makes the most beautiful clothes; feminine, structured pieces that work with any wardrobe. Anyway her stuff can be really pricey, but when your find your size on sale, with an addition clearance sticker attached, it's a win win.

To finish off my look, I paired the dress with the exact same accessories as I did yesterday. I know, super creative, right? I promise something better tomorrow. Actually, maybe not. But I can't say I won't try!
