A week in iPhone Photos

So I've titled this a week in iPhone pictures...which isn't exactly true. I've been so busy the past month or so, this is really more like the past month in iPhone pictures. Thankfully, I haven't been to busy to keep myself from snapping away. So without further ado...here we go! Hopefully I can get better about doing these again (and I say that all the time...)

I apologize in advance to anyone who follows me on Twitter and has seen these already. I'm on Instagram, too (heytherekatrina)!

1. The BEAUTIFUL earrings my boyfriend got me for our three year anniversary (they are my birthstone! Which one of the ones for December is blue topaz).

2. Sometimes, I find myself in my schools literature. Of course, one of my most flattering shots.

3. Essie Pink Parka nails which were perfect for spring break.

4. I was a fat kid over the break...homemade lemon meringue and apple pie.

5. Oh and red velvet Ben & Jerrys...delicious.

6. Sitting on the beaches of Ft. Lauderdale one day on spring break.

7. One of my best friends was in Paris over spring break, and brought back with her Laduree macarons for me...do I have the best friends or what?!

8. Fooling around with instagram instead of writing my honors paper..

9. All the vintage candies I got at a candy shop in Florida. All were consumed in about one day.

10. Spotted yet again in school literature....uh

11. My new favorite lipstick. Coral is definitely my color this year.

12. My highest check in on foursquare to date. Yup, I'm a freak. Pin It

Interview Wear

Shirt: Theory
Camisole: Gap
Skirt: L.K. Bennett
Shoes: Lauren Ralph Lauren
Necklace: Vintage

Typically, when it comes to interview wear, I tend to lean on the conservative side. I stick to basic suits, pencil skirts, and button downs. However, sometimes I think there is a right time and place for something classy, but also a little different. This Wednesday, was one of those times. I had an interview with a brewery for a graphic design position. Because I was going for a job in the creative field, I felt like it was okay to do something a little different than usual (especially when the company is definitely very artsy).

I LOVE how this look turned out. A year or so ago, I would have never worn something like this. I may have seen someone wearing it and thought they looked great, but probably wouldn't thought I could pull it off myself. However, I'm so glad I have started blogging because it has really got me to branch out from what I normally wear.

This is the first time I have gotten to wear this skirt, and I think it's so cute! It's made of this pretty chiffon fabric that swishes as you walk and it's just so cute. Plus these shoes! I think it's the first time they have made an appearance on the blog, and I think they are so sexy! Unfortunately, they kill my feet, so I can never wear them for very long. Overall though, I couldn't be happier with how this turned out.

This week < Next Week.

Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Camisole: Calvin Klein
Pants: Banana Republic
Shoes: Minnetonka
Earrings: Nordstrom Rack
Necklace: Vintage

Soo when did it get so cold? It was like in the 70s for about three weeks...and now it's in the 50s again. This is what I love about Maryland. You can't count on a nice spring, since there really is no such thing as spring. However, you can without a doubt count on some bi-polar weather.

Anyway, cold weather has left me with very few options, seeing as I packed up almost all of my winter clothing and took it home! This happens almost every year though, and it something I am prepared for. I should have enough winter-y pieces to make through until it's 100 degrees out all the time.

For today's look, I went with something simple and basic. This week has been SO crazy and hectic, I have barely had a minute to catch my breath. Button down oxfords and regular wash boot cut jeans are perfect for weeks like these. I look professional and feel pretty with very little effort.

Professional on Top, Party on the Bottom.

Jacket: Target
Shirt: J. Crew
Pants: DKNY
Shoes: BCBG Max Azria
Necklace: Claire*s
After having the craziest last week, I thought I was set for smooth sailing for the rest of the year. Uh wrong, what was I thinking? Although this week isn't going to be anywhere near as bad, I definitely have a lot going on. Thank goodness for the lists that I have been making daily. It's the only way I remember to have lunch with people, go to meetings with my adviser, apply for jobs, get e-mails sent, and keep up with the rest of my homework.

Anyway, after the warm weather burst last week, it is decidedly cooler this week. Like hair whipping in your face, I probably should still have a winter coat on cold. This is why I love Maryland. Nothing like some bi-polar weather to remind me that I don't live in the south. So, I went with a chic and casual outfit that not only kept me warm, but transitioned perfectly for all my different activities today: internship, meeting with my adviser and the career center, dinner date with the boyfriend, and homework time. Whew.

Overall, I love how this look came out. The highlighter fluorescent pink top is new, and I thought it was the perfect complement to an otherwise basic black blazer. Plus, by pairing both of those with casual white linen pants, I didn't look too dressed up. Pin It

Maxi Time

Jacket: DKNY
Dress: Planet Gold
Necklace: Erickson Beamon for Target
Shoes: Steve Madden Luxe

You guys have got to be super sick of my jean jacket and multicolored necklace by now. I mean, this is the third time in the past three days that they both have made an appearance on my blog. But you know what? I don't really care. They have both made getting dressed so much easier this week, so if that's what it takes, that's what it takes.

I got this dress in November, when it was clearly out of season. Which, is obviously one of the best times to buy clothes. So this dress? It was $5 in the end of season clearance rack at Macys. Love. Funny thing is, I was afraid I would never wear it. I have bought a couple of maxi dresses in the past, and always was afraid to wear them. Short dresses? No problem. But something that covers my legs? That kind of freaked me out.

Anyway, today seemed like the right day. I pulled on the dress, added my jean jacket to cover my shoulders and arms in cold classrooms, and piled on my favorite necklace this week that just happens to go with everything. The result? Poolside chic, which is where I wish I really was. But seriously, I love how this turned out. All of today I felt very elegant and regal, as the hem of my dress brushed the ground under me.

Outfit Repeater!

Jacket: DKNY
Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Skirt: Old Navy
Belt: Juicy Couture
Shoes: Coach
Necklace: Erickson Beamon for Target

I know what you're thinking - didn't you just wear that necklace yesterday? Didn't you just wear that jean jacket yesterday? Haven't you been wearing a lot of coral recently? If you thought any of the above, you're right. But desperate times call for desperate measures. So, not only did I repeat an outfit on my blog (the horror or horrors, I think this was last seen a year ago), I also wore things that I was wearing yesterday. *insert shocked face here*

Anyway, trying to write 20 pages in one week to wrap up my honors paper is no easy feat, so I haven't exactly been super creative in regards to my outfits. No matter, I love this outfit. And I love the fact that I've been baring my legs since February - definitely no complaints over here!

This dress..

Jacket: DKNY
Dress: Ralph Lauren Rugby
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Erickson Beamon for Target

Okay I LOVE this dress! It's a recent find I bought at the Leesburg outlets in Virginia, and I absolute love it! Although I probably shouldn't wear something strapless to class, I think it's okay since I wore my jacket over it all day anyway. But I just love the soft pink color, the way it swirls around me when I twirl, the darting that helps me look skinnier than I actually am, and the length of this dress. Surprisingly, I really like this length. It looked a little awkward at first, but it's actually just right.

Plus, I can't forget to mention how good of a deal this was. It was originally priced at $138, marked down to $99, and then 75 percent off - making it just 25 dollars! Quite the steal, if you ask me.

Anyway, I can't wait to wear this in the summer. It's going to be the perfect addition to my summer staples. Until then, I'll just continue working my butt off to finish school!

Brief Update

Shirt: Delia*s Warehouse Sale
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Maria Sharapova for Cole Haan

Sorry for the momentary absence without really telling you guys where I was going! However, if you follow me on twitter, you'll know that I spent the last week in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on an alternative spring break. I had a ton of fun and our group did a lot of great work, but I'm definitely happy to be back.

In other news, this week is going to be the death of me. I HAVE to finish my rough draft of my honors paper by Friday at 5 p.m. - and I still have a good almost 20 pages left. In addition, I have to go to my internship, class, and do whatever homework is thrown at me in the meantime. So, I am basically spending every waking minute this week writing, eating, or interning. I literally cannot wait until next week!

In regards to this outfit: definitely not one of my favorites. It looked a lot better yesterday night when I picked it out. However, it doesn't really matter, since I changed into a t-shirt and shorts almost immediately after my internship today - I can't believe how warm it is in the middle of March!

P.S - Exactly two months from today, I graduate. Holy crap.

Let Spring Break Begin!

Cardigan: Calvin Klein
Tank: J. Crew
Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Juicy Couture

With the completion of my last exam this afternoon, spring break has officially begun! Like last year, I'm headed back to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. for an alternative spring break for a bunch of other people from my school. I can't wait!

Anyway, this day was the nicest of the week at 70 degrees, so I wanted to wear something to reflect that. Truthfully, I wanted to pull out a cute sundress, but I haven't brought any back from home yet. So, I definitely plan on getting a bunch of those while I am home. Meanwhile, I pulled out this super bright Lilly miniskirt. I paired it with this sunny colored cardigan, which I think it the perfect contrast to the pink. Finally, I added my canvas sneakers to keep the looking from being too dressy. Again, I wish I had my sandals here, but those too are at home!

Midterm Stress

Jacket: DKNY
Shirt: Victoria's Secret
Skirt: Aerie by American Eagle
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Lilly Pulitzer

This week has been RIDICULOUSLY busy for me. Just this week, I have two midterms, a photo portfolio due, 10 pages of my honors paper, and graphics drafts. With a schedule like that, I need outfits that can keep up! For the most part, I am wearing them from the minute I wake up til the minute I go to bed, so I need things that are no-fuss.

This outfit perfectly fits the bill! I got this skirt at the outlets over the weekend from American Eagle, and I absolutely love it! Although the color is nothing special, who doesn't love a good sequin? I paired it with a gray cotton tissue-tee and my canvas sneaks. A perfect outfit to welcome in the warm weather that Maryland has been experiencing.

Winter Berry

Sweater: Burberry
Skirt: J. Crew
Shoes: Lucky Brand
Socks: gift
Necklace: Betsey Johnson

Let's talk about this outfit: love, love, LOVE! This morning was one of these mornings when I had absolutely no motivation to think of a cute outfit. I had been up the night before until 1:30 a.m. working on a paper, and had no energy left in me to even consider what to wear. However, then I remembered I had just been shopping, certainly there had to be something that I could wear!

I was right! This beautiful silk berry colored v-neck sweater was perfect for today! It was in the 40s so I definitely needed to cover up on top, but I NEVER have a problem showing off my legs. So, I paired it with my cream colored skirt which I really have been loving as of recent, and my brown leather boots.

And to conclude this post - let me tell you about the deal I got on this sweater. So I was shopping at Nordstrom rack this weekend, and pulled this off the racks. I looked at it, and thought it was kind of weird looking, but threw it in with the pile of stuff I wanted to try on because I liked the color. When I got to the dressing room, I noticed it was Burberry! And I thought for certain, this is out of my price range. I tried it on, and actually loved it! Plus, the color pops against my pale skin. Anyway, the original price was marked at $350, then down to $189, then to $99, and finally to $53. Then, I had a $20 gift card (the reason I had stopped in), which made it only $33! Quite the steal, if you ask me!

If You Like It Then You Should Belt It!

Cardigan: Kische
Tank: J. Crew
Belt: Amiee Lynne
Pants: BCBGeneration
Shoes: Anne Klein
Headband: Juicy Couture
Necklace: Vintage

When it doubt, throw on a cardigan, a tank top, a fun belt, and skinny jeans. On the busiest of days, this will keep you warm, but still stylish. Plus, you already look 100 times better than the girl next you in lecture wearing yoga pants and flip-flops. Lazy!

I'm not much for words today - WAY too much on my mind with midterms this week. Hope you guys had a good weekend!

Sexy Divide and Matte About You

For this weeks manicure, I was very excited to try a nail trend that has been around for awhile - matte polish. Now like I said, I know this is nothing new in the world of nail polish. I think it has been around for two years or something like that. But it was only recently that I actually started liking the way it looked on nails. So, with a gift card I had received for Amazon, I finally bought a bottle of Essie's Matte About You.

Here's what I think - I LOVE it. Even though I loved it when I saw it on other bloggers nails, I wasn't sure if I would like it on my nails. But I actually do! It does an excellent job at turning any color matte, but without making the polish entirely flat. There is still a nice sheen to it like shiny top coat, but obviously nowhere near as shiny. For this week, I paired it with Sexy Divide - a beautiful royal purple. After applying the matte top coat though, it goes instantly matte!

Only con about this was that it did not dry nearly as fast as I was hoping it would. Yea, it had a pretty quick dry time in comparison to most top coats, but I think because I am so used to using Seche Vite, I have no time to wait around for polish to dry. Otherwise, the perfect matte polish!

500!

Dress: Miss Sixty
Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer
Shoes: Target
Headband: BCBG Max Azria
Necklace: Lilly Pulitzer

Today, I am writing my 500th post. 500th?! Where the heck did the time go?! And what could I have possibly rambled on for 500 posts about? I honestly have no idea, but here I am still writing...

Anyway, this is what I wore to class the other day. It was yet again another premature spring day that I took full advantage of. I pulled one of the few summer dresses I have on hand with me and paired it with a neutral colored cardigan for a simple monochromatic look. To finish my outfit off, I added a red leather headband and these light-weight white canvas sneakers. Overall, a look that is probably way too summery, but as if I care. I felt pretty and all-American.

Here's to 500 more!
