This weekend marked a joyous occasion - my little brother returned from his five month study abroad trip in China! His absence was especially more noticeable during the recent holiday festivities, as we opened presents by the fire on Christmas morning, and talked and laughed while sitting around the table during Thanksgiving dinner. Even though he wrote all of us hand-written letters for both occasions, it just wasn't the same.
So, I was beyond ecstatic to head home this weekend and catch up with both of my brothers, and some of our friends who are more like family. After a photo presentation about his travels (as we hadn't seen anything yet because Facebook, Twitter, and just about everything else is blocked), we watched some of the Olympic trials, took goofy photos, and enjoyed a delicious Mexican feast prepared by my mom. It's been such a long time since we've all been together in one place, and I've been really trying to embrace these moments that have become few and far between. Here's to making more time for family family in this coming year, and cherishing past memories.Pin It
