Black Bean Dip

Picking out the perfect dish to bring my annual family reunion is always very tricky. I try to bring something hearty instead of sweet, and avoid bringing something similar to what others are bringing. Plus, I have the added difficulty that we're travelling from five hours away, so I have to find something that can either stay cold until serving, or room temperature.

After some extensive research, I finally decided on this black bean dip. It's hearty, super simple to make, and the best part - can be served cold, or warm with a sprinkling of cheese.Here's how you can make it:

-2 (14 oz) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
-1 chipolte chili
-1 tbs adobo sauce
-1 garlic clove
-2 tbsp chopped green onions
-1/4 tsp cumin
-2 tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice
-1/4 cup water
-salt and pepper to taste

Place all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth. This can be served cold, or warm sprinkled with cheese on top. Enjoy!
