All Dressed Up...

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Trina Turk
Belt: Target
Tights: HUE
Shoes: Michael Kors
Earrings: H&M

A couple of weekends ago, I went out to a nice dinner with my fiance, parents, and younger brother and his girlfriend. What was the special occasion? Absolutely nothing. Sometimes, I miss my family so much that we make up an excuse to get together and go out. We try and make it justifiable with the transfer of some important adult documents that I need (in this case, paperwork to get my car title transferred to Virginia,) but it's really just a reason to get together.

Anyway, I wanted to get dressed up for the occasion just because I could, and because I love this dress and I haven't had a chance to wear it yet. To put a little more spring in my step, I added this hot pink cardigan to brighten up the look. However, it was nowhere near spring when I wore this, so I had to wear thick tights, too!

A Week of Instagram

I like to title my Instagram posts, "A Week in Instagram," which is usually a pretty accurate look at the past week or two through my iPhone lens. This time, not so much. Not only have I've gotten behind on my blog posting, Instagram posting has fallen to the wayside, too! I'm trying to get back on track, I swear, so here's what's been happening for the past two and a half months - oops!

1. Enjoying working from home on a snow day by my Christmas tree.

2. Celebrating Christmas with Moscow Mules with my family.

3. How I chose to show off my Christmas and birthday cards this year. They were off the counter, which I loved!

4. First accomplishment of the new year? Doing a complete overhaul of my closet. I got rid of more than 60+ pieces, which is way more than I thought I would!

5. Watching a beautiful sunrise over the Potomac at my office.

6. Taking my first trip to Sugar Shack, a gourmet donut shot in downtown Alexandria.

7. Lunch date at Panera with one of my favorite people.

8. Pink and red tulips for Valentine's Day.

9. Seriously, no family dinner is complete without a good Moscow Mule. This time, at Wildfire in Tysons Corner.

10. It took me more than two years, but I finally have my Virginia license plates!

101 in 1001: February 2015

Hello, Internet! It has been so long. I've been busy, but really not that busy. I've let work consume way too much of my life outside the office for the past month now, and it's really not okay. This weekend, I read this article, and it really struck a chord with me. Although my coworkers have mentioned almost all of these points to me within the last couple of months, the article (and the comments), really made me rethink some things. So! Here I am, again. Hopefully back to updating my blog a little more frequently - I have so much I want to share! Starting with what I accomplished last month off my 101 in 1001 to-do list.

98. Go one month without straightening my hair.
Sadly, this is my one accomplishment from the last month, and I don't even have anything to show for it - like the cool other hairstyles I tried instead! Mostly braids, loose waves, and buns.
