Hawaii!

Sunrise on our first morning.

Just one of the many reasons for my extended absence? I spent a week in Oahu, Hawaii! Last year, my family starting talking about going to Hawaii for our family vacation, as it has been more than 10 years since the whole family has been able to make a trip and we all had an itch for the islands.

Thanks to the relentless hard work by my mom, we were able to make it happen just in time for my Dad's birthday the first week of June. I had the best time soaking up the sun, sipping on mai-tai's, and exploring all of our old haunts and new ones, too. To keep from boring you, I've only included a small sample of some of the photos from my trip. I'm already looking forward to going back!

Bridesmaid Dress Shopping

Jacket: Lauren Ralph Lauren
Shirt: J. Crew
Bag: Kate Spade
Jeans: Eileen Fisher
Shoes: Tory Burch
Necklace: Kate Spade

Unlike my last outfit, this one is only from back in May (!) and I remember what I was doing on this day - going bridemaid dress shopping! It's hard to believe that my wedding is coming up so quickly after planning for the last two years, and all of the final details are coming into place.

Anyway, I remember that I really, really loved this outfit. I still do! And if it wasn't more than 90 degrees outside and super humid, I would be wearing it again tomorrow. While I've never shied away from wearing a lot of color, I've never been very good at pattern mixing. This was one of my first attempts that I felt was actually pretty successful, and didn't just look like I paired two random pieces together.

April in July

Shirt: Lauren Ralph Lauren
Pants: DKNY
Necklace: Erickson Beamon for Target
Shoes: Cole Haan
Bracelet: gift

Normally, when I blog in a timely fashion, I can remember exactly what I was doing when I wore a particular outfit, or am looking at a photo taken a week or so ago. But when I wear something in April and am just posting it in July? You can be 100 percent certain I have no idea what motivated me to choose this outfit.

However, blue, white, and coral/orange is one of my favorite color combinations, and I think this look is one that could easily be worn in the middle of July. Though it's crazy hot outside, I'm working in a freezing office where something like this would actually keep me warm.
